With help from AFHA, “Able” Mable Thomas will re-open the long closed English Avenue Elementary School. Once a community anchor, the school was vacated in the mid 1990′s. Mable’s vision is to turn the school into a community center and give this architectural treasure a new life. The renovated school is part of the English Avenue Campus master plan, and will serve as the anchor for the revitalization of the entire neighborhood.
AFHA will assist with:
- assembling the design team
- facilitating charettes
- drafting working drawings and
- keeping attention focused on the project by partnering on community events.
