THANK YOU Atlanta, The Birdhouse Social 2011 was AWESOME! It was a fantastic day filled with great people and beautiful birdhouses.  We are humbled by the show of support from our sponsors, birdhouse builders and awesome volunteers.  We couldn’t have done it without you!

Three is the magic number and AFHA is thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual Birdhouse Social.  On Saturday, August 20th 2011, 4 to 8 pm, our signature fundraising event will showcase creative birdhouse, and bat box, designs imagined by some of Atlanta’s most creative personalities.  The outdoor courtyard at Studioplex once again plays host to this magical evening combining music, interpretive dance and fanciful birdhouse displays.

The Birdhouse Social is only as fabulous as the amazing people that submit their designs and we are definitely in for a treat! With 25 entries and counting this year, the ATL bird population will be moving on up! By designing a birdhouse for auction, you show your support and commitment to humanitarian design in Atlanta and beyond.

We are still building our army of volunteers for this event! If you’re interested, please send an email to volunteers@afhatlanta.org.  Everyone works in shifts for setup the morning of and during the event.  This leaves plenty of time to mix, mingle and place your bids!

Birdhouse Social 2010

Thank you to everyone who supported the 2nd Annual Birdhouse Social.  It was a beautiful day and we were thrilled with the outpouring of support for our local, humanitarian design efforts.  This year’s beneficiary, the English Avenue Community Campus renovation team, is hard at work maximizing the $2,200 raised .  We will be posting updates on our projects page and you can follow the English Avenue Community Campus story here:   http://www.englishavenuecampus.net/.

Back for a 2nd year!! AFHA is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Birdhouse Social on Saturday, August 14th 2010, 4 to 8 pm.  The evening will feature a silent auction of custom birdhouses, and chicken coops, designed by some of Atlanta’s most creative residents.   Studioplex once again plays host to this outdoor event with Grafite Design also returning to create glorious birdhouse displays via creative installation.

This year, the Birdhouse Social will benefit the Greater Vine Cities Outreach Program and English Avenue Campus renovation and AFHA is seeking your support.  How? By designing a birdhouse of course! All design submissions will be available to the public in the silent auction and design specifications can be found in the “Call for Designs.”
